Dear Callan Family...I got to know Gene at Throgs Neck Tennis. He was funny, charming, tough and always had a twinkle in his eye! Loved playing tennis with him. Missed him at the club the last two years. Heard he was having tough times but he was tough and knew that whatever happened, he would go kicking and screaming until the end, and then show faith and grace to all. He will be missed and wanted you to know. His tennis pal, Carole P.
