Eugene O. Callan (Gene), a lifelong Bronx, NY resident passed away on Friday March 9, 2018
Eugene was born on May 28, 1931 in the Bronx to the late Owen and Margaret (Reilly) Callan. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret of 42 years and sisters Mary and Kathleen.
Eugene was a veteran Sergeant of the Korean War and was a retired MABSTOA bus operator. Gene enjoyed playing and watching tennis and was a longtime member of the New York Tennis Club. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Frances de Chantal Church and a member of the Holy Name and Nocturnal Adoration Societies.
Gene is survived by his children, Eugene (Maria), Raymond (Jacqueline), Barbara (Thomas), Kevin, James (Lilian), Michael (Bridget), 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday Mar. 12, 2018 from 2-5 & 7-9PM at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Mar. 13, 2018 at 11:15AM, St. Frances de Chantal Church. Burial to follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery.
Thank you, Dad, for your unconditional love. Your memory, spirit and kind heartedness will endure in each of us forever. You will be deeply missed.
