Dear Pa,
"Ever have that moment of clarity, where you're like 'aha'? That's your conscious self, or consciousness" ... I can still hear your voice clear as day repeating this same thought process to anyone who would take a moment to listen. Well, let's just say the light bulb went off.
From you I have learned the true value of life. The precious moments that seem to live stronger in our hearts when we have loved ones to share them with. I take with me the value of family and the relied on traditions so small as even listening to you bless our meals at every holiday around our dinner table; same old album playing in the background (Marc Anthony for Thanksgiving, Alvin and the chipmunks for Xmas). I watched you embody the meaning of true love with your committed bond to Ma and then us. And I forever hold on to skills you've personally passed to me like playing chess or gardening in May. I can still feel your presence in the only home I've ever known. And although this will never be a good enough replacement, I'll settle because even though you've left this earth, I know you'll never leave me.
I love you
