Wayne was my very first cousin on my mom's side of the family. My sister Loralee and I were so excited to meet our new cousin. He was very special to both of us and to our parents. He was a very happy child, teenager, and young man. I will hold on to all our family holidays and birthdays we shared as special memories. I will miss him very much. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

I am sorry to hear about my cousin Wayne. I know my sister and I will remember all the times we spent with Wayne and John playing at their home and ours. It seems he was able to have his last wish marrying the woman he loved with his family by his side in his final days. Take peace in the fact he knew how much you all loved him.

My heart goes out to you and your husband, Dotti. Deepest condolences for you both and the family. Please know that you will have prayers throughout this time and for the rest of your days ahead. May God bless you with consolation, strength and peace through this time as you have both been vigilant with Wayne in his time of need. May he watch over you the way you did all his days. Hugs.

Dear Dottie, We met 41 years ago in your mom's kitchen when you were very pregnant with your first child. Two months later, Wayne Patrick was born. Howie and I stood in front of the window at the hospital nursery and looked at our new nephew's big brown eyes. He seemed to have a little smile on his face even then. Three years later, when I was pregnant with my second child, your mom brought Wayne to my house for a play date with his 2-year-old cousin Brian. Brian sat in a little red wagon and Wayne pulled him around the backyard - both of them laughing and screaming with delight. Seeing that joy, I prayed that the child I was carrying would be a boy too. Michael was born and John followed a few years later. Soon the four of them were racing around, laughing and having fun - just being boys. Wayne had a special sweetness about him. He was always kind, always smiling and very loved by everyone who knew him. I know that your heart as well as the hearts of Gary, John and Maureen are broken right now so I hope this little story/ memory will give you a small amount of happiness to hold onto during this very difficult time. Whenever I think of Wayne I'll picture that wonderful little boy who grew into a fine, generous, caring man. I was blessed to have him in my life and his memory will live on in my heart forever.
