Richard “Ricky” Figueroa, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at his home in the Bronx, NY. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Angela Figueroa (née Jouvin); his son, Richard A. Figueroa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ricky was born in the Bronx on May 9, 1959. He joined the NYPD in 1980 where he served a distinguished career of 20 years in many roles. He retired as Sergeant in 2000 and went on to serve in federal law enforcement with the U.S. Customs Service for 14 years.
Ricky had a passion for spending time with family, protecting people, practicing his marksmanship, and visiting Disney World with his family where they shared many great memories. His proudest moment was watching his son Richard become a Deputy Sheriff with the New York City Sheriff’s Office.
Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Sunday, December 22nd at Schuyler Funeral Home, 3535 East Tremont Avenue, Bronx, NY 10465. The funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 23rd at Holy Family Church, 2158 Watson Avenue, Bronx, NY 10472. Burial will follow the funeral at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx, New York 10465.
