Mildred Alvarado, 65 years old, of Easley, South Carolina gained angel wings on Sunday, October 9, 2022. Mildred was born in the Bronx, New York on January 19, 1957 to Jose (Pepe) and Pilar Gonzalez.
Mildred graduated from Cathedral High School; she later earned a Bachelor’s degree while advancing her career in management. Once retired from Verizon, Millie devoted her life to church, and community service. Her love for God was bigger than life – she had a way of making everyone feel as though they were the most important person in the world, and that through God’s mercy everything was possible.
If you were around Millie, guaranteed you laughed so hard, your ribs hurt – her witty carefree spirit was infectious. Everyone who knew Millie knew how faithful she was to family and friends. Millie was full of light, joy, compassion, positivity and love; traits that were obvious to all.
Not a day went by that Millie didn’t talk about how much she loved her family and the ladies in her bible study group that she fellowshipped with. Maintaining and nourishing family and friend relationships were arguably the most important achievement in her life.
Millie was predeceased by her loving parents, Pepe and Pilar Gonzalez and her God-mother Rose Pena. Millie is survived by her grandson Lorenzo Bracero, her God children Michelle Cuadrado, Danielle Ruiz-Dunlavey and Francisco Gomes; her aunt and uncle Carmen and Robert Borrero and her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
