My Dad

Dad was born in Rio Pierdas, Puerto Rico in 1936.  Son of Antonio Pereira & Ramona Quinones-Pereira.  He had two brothers, Antonio, Jr and Ramon.  Unfortunately, Raymond passed away at the age of 7 from a lung disease.

at the age of 14 dad and his brother was on a Pan Am flight  to New York to join his mom on the upper East side.  Shortly thereafter he moved to the West Side where he met my mom Rachel.  Together my parents had 8 kids.  Millie, Louie, Carmen, Nancy, Ramona, Robert, Tony and Helen.

Dad was a legend in his neighborhood. He played sports like Basketball, Paddleball and Handball.  He taught the neighborhood kids the "game."  I remember the days he would ask me to come after work and team up with him to play Paddleball.

But most of all I'll always remember dad's humor and how it carried us through tough times.  He taught us that through laughter you can learn to cope, and that's the one tool that helped me nativate through life.

I will always be grateful for his love and we will miss him dearly.
