My wonderful handsome cousin Skippy

My cousin Skippy, as he is known to everyone, Is 5 years older than me.   We used to spend time together when we were both younger.  However, his family moved south to New Jersey and my family moved north to Connecticut.

He did spend a week with us in the summer of 1960 when he was 15 and he brought his record player and records with him.  He listed to those records over and over again and my sisters and I used to dance to them.

I posted the photos of him at 5-7 years old and the other 4 photos.  The first one he was about 18 months old.  the 2nd photo is of Xmas 1952, so he was about 7 years old.  the next 2 were taken in 1957, 12 years old for his graduation and military outfit photo.

We loved to listen to his BRONX accent.  Sonce we moved to Connecticut in 1955 none of my siblings or myself gave any accents.  However, my father, Bill Anthony, Skippys only uncle on the Anthony side of the family, used to do the accent for us.

Going to Edgewater was always a treat for our family.  My grandmother, Marion Anthony, lived at 104D and her sister Aunt Agg lived in Edgewater as well..  My father was an honorary member of the EAA, so we always came down on labor day weekend for the festivities.  Skipppy was always there as well.

I think I talked to him more in the last two years then I had in the last 50 yeasr.  I loved listening to his stories and political views, even though I did not agree with all of them.

I will miss him. but I will keep him in my heart forever.
