Francis Xavier

Frank was born hungry. As a toddler in his high crib he ate enough stuffing out of his mattress to require a stomach pumping. He sat at the end of our kitchen table to receive any food we did not want. When he was eight he decided to run away from home.We took my bike to the staten island ferry landing which was about a mile away and ate our rations which were carrots and celery.Luckily a tugboat crew gave us the job of getting them beer from a bar they knew up the hill.We were able to get the beer to them and receive a tip large enough to eat hot dogs and pretzels all afternoon til it got dark and we decided to go home for dinner. No one missed us.

He always had a job a odd sense of humor no mean bones overly generous warmly good natured a bit of a raconteur.Working in refrigeration as a career he worked on thousands of jobs in n.y.c. restaurants clubs stadiums etc.Part of his fringe benefits were the meals provided to him by grateful chefs cooks owners whoever needed ice and a.c.His van was always overloaded with everything.Parking at a job sometimes required bumping a vehicle a foot or two away from his van in the front then the rear.

When he met the love of his life he left brooklyn for the bronx never to return. They bought a home fixed it up perfect had two daughters and lived that american dream. For awhile anyway.

Francis Xavier lived his life at about 70 m.p.h.Any big mistakes he made he was able to correct in his senior years. As a former superman he certainly carried on til his last day.

Biggest respect to Peg his wife his daughters Peggy and Laura their spouses Keith and Leah and his grandchildren.

I wont miss Frank as he is always with me.

                                                                               respectfully,

                                                                             his brother Charles
