Obituary for Donald E. O'Grady

Donald E. O'Grady
Donald O’Grady is survived by his dear sisters Barbara and Rita, his nephew Ian Shayne, nieces Lori-Ann, Leah, Lynell, grand nephews Nicolas and Christopher, Sean, Evan and Ryan, grand nieces, Alexis, Briana, Carina Jo, great grand nephews, Tripp, Lorenzo, great grand niece Liliana and our baby girl Dykstra whom we will share all of our wonderful memories of her great grand uncle Donald.

Donald was known for making Snowman Pancakes, finding pennies in the pool, taking long walks with a beautiful swing in his step as he always enjoyed going out for fast food and gaming at the arcade. Pac Man was his favorite and we’ll never forget his loyalty to the New York Mets. Donald at one time had a very aloof kitty who rarely gave him the time of day but loved him dearly as he loved her. His laughter will echo in our hearts and mind and the rich aroma of black coffee or tempting scent of big bag of buttered popcorn while watching a funny show on tv endears us forever.

There’s a saying that the true test of a man’s character is not judged by how much he loved others but by how much he was loved. Heaven has gained a man that was so very loved and throughout his lifetime he always made anyone who came into his presence feel their very best. He will be remembered swinging the little ones around and rocking them in his arms for before hoisting them up on his shoulders for the best ride ever. He is and always will be on our minds and in our hearts forever.

We take solace knowing that he is safe in the arms of God reunited with his mother Rita, brother Joe and sister Kathy.
