Life Story for Anthony Racioppo

Anthony F. Racioppo, Born June 13, 1922 to Guiseppi and Filomena Racioppo in the Bronx, New York.
Sibling to Rose, Paul, Charles and Jean. He studied printing in high school.
After graduation, he served his country in WWII for almost four years in France
and Germany as the number two gunner on a 105mm howitzer. When he came home
from war he worked for the New York Sanitation Department for the next 20 years.
He also worked for the A and P for ten years after he retired and then worked
at Providence Rest. He was an avid baseball fan and once shook Babe Ruth's hand.
Rach, as he was fondly called by friends and family, was a great stick ball
player and loved playing on 143rd Street, where he met the love of his life - the
beautiful Marie Dentato. Anthony & Marie were married April 23, 1950 and
raised five children Anthony, Joseph, Thomas, Raymond and Andrea. They spent
many wonderful years living with and near their loving family including the
Dentato's, the Lobozzo's, the Mastricova's, the Bianco's, the Umbribo's and the
Catroppo's. Rach loved to travel and enjoyed Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Rach
adored his eight grandchildren Stephanie, Vanessa, Brittnie-lee, Jeanine,
Andrew, Thomas, Greg and his namesake Antonio. He also leaves behind his
Son-in-law John Narcisco and Daughter-in-laws Roseann, Eleanor and Gina
Racioppo. Unfortunately he lost his daughter-in-law Corinne in 2013.
He was loved by everyone.
He will be remembered for always having a smile on his face and a song in
his heart. He will be greatly missed by all.
