Condolence: At The Country School, where I served alongside Tony as the head of school, some newer students can be sometimes slower to settle in, tentative about friendships, surveying the social landscape. But I could always count on Tony, while busy, to find that new student and pull her or him in. Tony had an uncanny sense of who did not yet feel included--and he would reach out to that student of any age.

Sometimes he would give her or him a nickname that would stick. Or he would just tease the student in the lunch line in front of other kids, recognizing the student so the others would know he or she was already known and liked by Tony.

And if Tony knew you, Tony liked you. Tony collected people as friends. And he wanted to connect people. If you needed someone for a job, he "knew a guy."

It is testament to Tony's impact on our campus since 2005 that when alumni and their parents returned to campus, they often wanted to see Tony first. They sought him out, tried to ask what and how he was doing. But Tony, always thinking of others, would soon have them talking more, laughing, telling him what they were up to.

How to measure the impact of that on a campus? You can't. My hope is that Tony's bright example of selflessness and embrace of everyone, from all walks of life, will inspire us forever at Tony's beloved Country School.

Condolence From: The Armenia Family
Condolence: The mark one makes on the lives of others can surely be shown by the sadness he leaves behind in his passing. Tony was a remarkable man, always humble in his being, always lending a helping hand and ardent in his love and support for his family, friends and his extended family at TCS whose lives he touched in immeasurable ways. I am certain that Tony's memory and legacy will live on through the many many lives he touched here on earth..Heaven has gained an angel~

With deepest sympathies - Katy, Dave and Kaylee Armenia

Condolence: I am so sorry for your loss, but hope you can take some measure of comfort in knowing how much he was loved by all that had the pleasure to know him. It is unthinkable to start the school year without "Uncle Tony" on campus. He was a friend to all, young and not-so-young, and made it his mission to make everyone's day just a bit brighter.
