Obituary for Vincent A Carotenuto

Vincent Anthony Joseph Carotenuto, 72, of the Bronx passed away on January 4th, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

Vinny was born on August 14th, 1948 to Anthony and Anna Carotenuto in the Bronx. After graduating from Columbus High School in 1966, he enlisted in the military during the Vietnam war and proudly served in the Air Force for four years.

A logistics and manufacturing specialist, Vinny found his purpose at Eagle Electric where he was Vice President of Logistics, formally based in Long Island City where he worked for many years. After working at other companies in the same field Vinny finally retired to enjoy his life with his long time love and wife Roseann.

Vinny and Roseann first met in 1966 when she was 15 years old and he was 18 on the front porch of what was then her childhood home and has been their family home for over 40 years. A true love story for the ages, Vinny and Roseann, have been married for 47 years. His legacy will live on in his two daughters Dana Carotenuto Rico and Gina Carotenuto Trotta. His wife Roseann will cherish him always.

Vinny was larger than life, made everyone feel like family and when he entered a room everyone smiled because they knew their day or night would get better. His love for the Yankees and Giants was only eclipsed by his love for his family and friends. He loved his family fiercely and family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of his daughters Dana and Gina, his son in laws Joshua and Frankie and especially his grandchildren Francesca Rose and Joseph Vincent.

Anyone who knew Vinny knew that he was the most loving father, husband, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, godfather, nephew and cousin a family could ask for and he was a friend for the ages who will be missed by too many to account for but he loved them all.

To know Vinny, is to know that he loved music, often listening to “I Believe” to bring him comfort and he loved to sing. So in his words that he sang to so many of us..
And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain I've lived a life that's full I traveled each and every highway And more, much more than this I did it my way Vincent Anthony Joseph Carotenuto
