Obituary for Maude Jacquet
Maude Jacquet was a caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She left this World suddenly on August 8, 2023, at the age of 73.
She was born to Marguerite and Pascal Jacquet on December 13, 1949. After her education in Haiti, the family moved to the United States, where Maude chased her dream to become a Social Worker and worked for the Child Support Department with the New York State Child Support Services in New York City.
She was married to Max Denis and had two daughters, Joyce, and Cynthia. After her divorce from Max, she met Tom Frederique and from that union, had a daughter, Claudia.
Maude loved spending time reading, listening to music, especially Haitian and Latin music. Her favorite Latin singer was Marco Antonio Solis. She loved to cook, and her favorite food was seafood. She also loved to travel and cruise. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Maude, especially taking care of her grandchildren. She loved quite evenings with family and friends. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. She was also a visionary, courageous and focused. She informally adopted two families in Haiti: Abraham Brutus and Nadia (deceased) and her family. Maude also considered Merline Mainville and family as her “Brooklyn Family”
Maude is survived by three daughters: Joyce, Cynthia, and Claudia. Maude is survived by two sisters: Mannette Eugene and Nicole Jacquet-Philogene and brother-in-law, Paul Philogene and brother, Claude T. Jacquet. Deceased siblings are Margot Pelisseier, Olga Jacquet-Wainwright, and brother Eddie M. Jacquet. Ex-son-in-law, Frank Sudore and son-in-law, Radames.
Grandchildren: Liam, Talia and husband Mario, Giovanni, Luciano, Anya, Amalya, Justin and Keo.
Great grandchildren: Lorenzo and baby Gianni
Nieces: Jenny Wainwright-Johnston, husband Dean and their son, Adonis Johnston, Barbara Nathalie Wainwright, Sadiah Boyle, and her children: Shane, Sebastian and his wife, Atiyah, and their daughter, Zualia Nicole, Stephan, Savyion and Sinaya, husband Paul and their children, Meriyah and newly born, Zyair, Claudia Maria, husband Jarrett Payne and their children, Jaelyn and Elizabeth and Agnus Jacquet
Nephews: Marvin Boyle, wife Karen and their children: Princess, Cheyenne and Marvin Phoenix, Jr., Lucien Reginald Boyle, and his children: Keanu, Mekdas and Khalyah, Berthold Boyle, wife Ann, and their son, Kingston.
Maude’s dear cousins: Kettly LeFevre, Yolette Demoya and Denise Charles.
Maude was a woman whose impact will truly be forever felt by her family and friends that loved her dearly. She was a selfless woman whose passing has left an unfillable whole in the hearts of her loved ones. Her ability to sacrifice, provide support, forgive and love will be forever engrained in all who knew her. Most of all, many will remember her laugh, her smile, and her wisdom.
