Obituary for Kenneth Ackert

Kenneth Ackert
Kenneth Ackert (Ken) of Bronx, New York, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the age of 80. Ken was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle and friend to so many and will be dearly missed. Ken grew up in the Edgewater Park part of the Bronx, and has been a longtime resident of the Silver Beach area of the Bronx with his beloved wife Marilyn (Connolly) Ackert. Ken adored Marilyn from the day he met her. On June 3, 1978 they were married and happily enjoyed their marriage together. Besides spending time with Marilyn, and his extended family, Ken loved his time as the “captain” of his boat. For many years, Ken captained his boat “Bout Time” throughout the waters of the Bronx with Marilyn. Throughout his life Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing all of the waters he traveled on, as well as conversing with his friends and family about their fishing tales.

Ken is survived by his longtime wife Marilyn, his sisters Patricia (Ackert) Jackson and Virginia (Ackert) Rose, his sister and brother-in-laws Robert and Regina (Connolly) Baker, Geraldine (Connolly) Docherty, Carol (Gress) Connolly, James and Lynn Connolly, 18 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great nieces. Ken embraced his title of “Uncle Ken” and treated everyone of his nieces and nephews as his very own sons and daughters. In turn, all of them cherished their relationship with their “Uncle Ken.”

Ken is predeceased by his parents William and Emma Ackert his mother and father-in-law Patrick and Theresa Connolly, brothers-in-law Joseph Docherty and Robert Connolly.
