John Kirrane, of Locust Point in the Bronx, passed away while on vacation in Florida on December 2 at the age of 86 years old. John was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary who passed away in 2012 from cancer after a strong fight. They were married for almost 50 years. He was a native of Galway, Ireland and loved to visit East Durham in the Catskills and keep alive the Irish traditions throughout the summer months followed by wintering in Florida at his other residence.

John had 4 sons John Jr., Kevin, Brian, and Vincent who passed away as an infant. He also had 6 grandchildren who he cherished: Danielle, Ryan, Nicholas, Kaley, Camryn, and Caroline. He was a man that loved to be busy building fixing things and trying new and age-inappropriate activities. For his 80th birthday he went skydiving with his sons followed in the coming years by parasailing, hot air balloon rides, riding a wave runner and paddle boarding.

He was lucky enough to meet Florence Pagliuca 3 years after the passing of his wife. Flo, as she was called, loved to volunteer at the Knights of Columbus and partake in the Irish Dances and Ceilis with Dad, but she too was taken to early by cancer only a few years after they met ..

Dad until we meet again you will not be forgotten and will be forever loved and remembered.
