Obituary for Evelyn H. Pica

Evelyn Siniscalchi Pica
May 10, 1926 – April 27, 2022

Evelyn went to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Evelyn was born in New York City May 10, 1926 to Joseph and Antoinette Siniscalchi.
She is reunited with her parents, loving husband John Pica, son-in-law Eugene Ingram, sisters Josephine ‘Pat’ (Frank) Pucherelli, and Madelyn Siniscalchi, and brother Dominick (Josephine) Siniscalchi. She is now also with dear nephews Ricardo Pucherelli, Joseph Siniscalchi, Mark Scotton, and Joseph Pica, as well as many dear cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

She leaves her 3 children: John (Linda) Pica, James (Elisa) Pica and Catherine Ingram; two grandsons Michael (Suzanne) Pica, and Steven Pica. She will be missed by her three great grandsons John Pica, Carlo Pica, and Gavin Pica; her step-grandchildren Darryl (Tammy) Ingram, and Kevin (Kim) Ingram); step-great-grandchildren Jonathan Ingram, Amanda Ingram, Ethan Ingram and Evan Ingram; and step-great-great-grandchildren Olivia Ingram and Mayzie Ingram. She will also be missed by her dear nieces, nephews, cousin, and dear friend Eleanor Roche, and her favorite grand-dog Josie.

Evelyn graduated from Washington Irving High School in New York City and married John upon his return from WWII. She worked for Trine Rolled Molding as a receptionist and bookkeeper. After retiring, Evelyn and John lived in East Stroudsburg, PA; Memphis, TN; and Bethel, CT. After John passed, she moved to Pensacola, FL near her daughter and son-in-law.

Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed painting and crocheting. Many friends and family have a soft floral or colorful landscape that she painted or a blanket or baby clothes that she crocheted with love. Thank you to Talis Jayme who rekindled her enthusiasm for painting. She also played the piano and John would always say “Play Jealousy!” Evelyn enjoyed visiting the local library. She was an avid reader of mysteries and biographies, and enjoyed watching old movies.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Specialty Health & Rehabilitation, especially nurse Jamie, nurse practitioner Manuel Salgado, and CNA Linda. Deepest appreciation to everyone at Covenant Care Hospice who were always there for Evelyn and her family, especially nurse Suzy who always made her smile. Thank you to her long time doctor Katherine Price and all the staff at Sacred Heart Medical Group at Perdido, especially Heather Dickin and Nurse Cynthia.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Evelyn to the charity of your choice.
