Obituary for Eugene T. Connelly

Gene Connelly passed away on October 6th while residing at the Queen of Peace Residence. He was a lifelong resident of the Bronx and a parishioner of St. Frances de Chantal for over 90 years.
Gene is survived by his children, Eugene, Irene and Kitty and in-laws John Sullivan and Colleen Connelly. His 5 grandchildren, Will Sullivan, Dan Sullivan, Beth Connelly, Marie Connelly and Kerri Connelly, daughters-in -law Allie and Anna Sullivan, and his beloved great grandson Joe Sullivan. He was dedicated to his wife of 48 years, Grace O’Brien Connelly, who predeceased Gene.
Gene served in the Marines during WWII. He retired as a lieutenant from the NYPD and later worked at the NY State Power Authority. He was very active in our community, serving on the founding Board of Directors of the Silver Beach Coop and was past Commander of the American Legion Silver Beach Post.
