Obituary for Elizabeth "Liz" Engeldrum
Elizabeth Ann Engeldrum, 78, of Yonkers, passed away July 21, 2022, with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Jakob and Theresa Stroell, April 19, 1944. Elizabeth “Liz” married the late Donald J. Engeldrum in 1962, and they lived in Throggs Neck before relocating to Yonkers in 1968. She is survived by her three children Donald (Sandy) Engeldrum, Denis Engeldrum, and Lizanne (Michael) Catalano. Liz was a loving and proud grandmother to Daniel, Jason (Christine), Alexandra, Samantha, and Gabrielle. She also had two great granddaughters, Robyn and Aubrie who adored their “Gigi.”
Elizabeth’s parents owned Stroell's Bakery in Throggs Neck, it was there that Elizabeth learned all her fabulous cake decorating and baking skills. She made sure baking was a part of all the holiday traditions she shared with her children and grandchildren. Friends and coworkers reaped the benefit of her homemade desserts when she was invited for an event. Throughout the last twenty-eight years, her Wednesdays were spent volunteering at the Bronx Zoo. Elizabeth was a real estate agent with Keller Williams. Everyone that met Liz instantly realized she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She managed to make every person in her life feel special, loved and welcome.
