Obituary for Eleanor Lyons (DeCola)
Eleanor DeCola-Lyons, or more affectionately known as Dolly, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2021. Born March 13, 1931 in New York City to Martin and Tessie DeCola, she graduated from Christopher Columbus High School. She had already met her soulmate Frank, or more affectionately known as Bubby. The Dolly and Bubby love story endured through 68 years of marriage. They became the most loving and dedicated parents to five children, nine grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Dolly was selfless in her love for her family. Nothing was more important. She was famous for her laughing fits that never ended and her sneezing fits if she took the rare sip of Amaretto. Dolly was a role model that her family will not forget. She was adored by each and every one of them. Her heart was filled with love, kindness and laughter. Her loss is immeasurable but there is solace that she is back together with her soulmate. Dolly is survived by her son Bob and wife Liz, son Bill and wife Laura, daughters Terri and Linda, and son John. Grandchildren Jennifer and her husband Bryan, Stephanie and her husband Dan, Amanda and her husband Frank, Kristina, Greg, Marisa and her husband Danny (and Dolly the puppy), Frank, John and Catie. Great Grandchildren Makayla, Finn, Leo, Ty, Lucca and Brady. She is also survived by her brother Joey. Predeceased by her husband Frank, and brothers Martin Jr. and Harry. We love you Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and will miss you terribly.
