In 1941 in the town of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Edwin Maldonado was born to the late Gregory and Juanita Maldonado. Brother to Melba, Andres, Gregory and Ruben he was blessed with a loving family which continued to grow after he married the love of his life Hortencia Hernandez in 1963. During their near 60 years of marriage, Edwin and Hortencia welcomed their daughter, Elizabeth, followed by their son, Edwin Jr. Edwin further was blessed with five beautiful grandchildren: Amanda, Jonathan, Jessica—the children of Elizabeth and Keith—and Gabriel and Sophia—the children of Edwin Jr. and Wanda. Edwin, a passionate fan of the New York Mets and a salsa dancing extraordinaire will forever be remembered as being a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
