Obituary for Bridget Treanor

Bridget Theresa Treanor (nee O’Sullivan), better known as Terry, aged 80, of the Bronx, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2023 after battling various illnesses.
She was born on October 21, 1942 to James and Ellen (nee Hart) O’Sullivan in Ahakista, County Cork, Ireland. Terry emigrated to America in 1960, at the young age of 17 and was employed by the New York Telephone Co. She met her future husband, Bill, on a Circle Line cruise around Manhattan. They married in 1966 and lived on Perry Ave near Saint Brendan’s parish, and eventually settled in City Island.
Terry was a fabulous cook who enjoyed hosting large gatherings and doting on her grandchildren. Her lasagne should have been awarded a Michelin star and her Irish Soda Bread was world-class. She enjoyed gardening and her roses were always in bloom. She was a generous and caring person who will be fondly remembered by all those that knew her.
Terry is predeceased by her parents, brother Michael, sister Francis Deegan and nephew Kieran. She is survived by her husband Bill; sons Billy (wife Christine), Michael (wife Eileen) and Steven (Carmen); 6 grandchildren Kevin, Sean, Caitlin, Owen, Fiona and Matthew; sister Mary; brother James; and many nieces and nephews
