Obituary for Stephen J. Christian
Stephen Christian, 70, of Hopewell Junction , NY , passed away on Oct 21st of heart complications at Vassar Hospital. Stephen lived in and maintained his office in Hopewell Junction for over 30 years . A gifted musician , he regaled his family , friends and audiences at various venues in the Bronx and Manhattan with songs and Irish history.
Proud of his lineage, Stephen obtained Irish Citizenship .
After attaining degrees in both law and accounting , he served the people of Dutchess County with kindness and compassion. He refused to take advantage of anyone and often completed the needed work pro bono . His integrity endeared him to his clients .
As a young man , Stephen garnered awards in public speaking and was frequently asked to speak at patriotic gatherings for veteran organizations. His avocations were carpentry , playing several instruments and reading . His professional letters attest to his skill as a writer . Stephen was predeceased by his parents , Alice and Harry Christian. He is survived by his sisters , Maureen Squiccimarro ( Frank ) and Regina Egan ( Bill ) along with four nieces , one nephew and eight grand nieces and nephews.
