Obituary for Benny M. Randazzo


Ben (Benny) Randazzo passed away on Monday, November 2nd at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. The youngest child of Frank and Mary Randazzo was born on August 28th, 1941 at Flower Hospital in New York City. Along with his three siblings, Anna, Rose, and Cosmo, Ben spent his early years on Colden Avenue in the Bronx. He spent his middle years and the remainder of his life on Tierney Place in the Locust Point Section of the Bronx.
Upon graduating from Mount Saint Michael Academy, Ben worked for AT&T before entering the family business, Randazzo’s Seafood on Arthur Avenue. In 1966, he married Maria Villani Randazzo. Along with his brother, he owned and operated Shelter Cove Marina in Throggs Neck for over 20 years. Most recently, Ben has served as Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Mike Benedetto. In this role, Ben became a well-known community advocate and the friend to many.
Ben is survived by: his wife Maria; his two children, Frank (Anna) of the Bronx, New York and Annemarie (Thomas) of Grafenwohr, Germany; his two granddaughters Olivia and Mia; two of his siblings, Cosmo (Amy) and Rose; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anna, and brothers-in-law, Mike and Dominic.
Visitation will be from 7-9PM on Wednesday, November 4th and from 2-5PM and 7-9PM, Thursday, November 5th at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home in Throggs Neck. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Frances de Chantal Church on Friday, November 6th at 10:45AM, with burial following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
